Denture adhesives help keep dentures in place. However, a comparison reveals that not all adhesives work the same way.
We’ll compare Cushion Grip and traditional denture glue. We highlight key differences to help you find the best option.
Traditional Denture Adhesive (Glue)
Traditional denture glue adhesives come in pastes, creams, or powders that create a temporary bond between your dentures and gums. This helps keep dentures in place while eating and speaking.
Cushion Grip Thermoplastic Denture Adhesive
Cushion Grip is a thermoplastic denture adhesive. It works like a soft reliner to refit and tighten dentures. When heated, it becomes pliable. It fills gaps for a snug, comfortable, custom fit.
Cushion Grip helps you temporarily refit and tighten your dentures between dental visits for added comfort and stability.
❗ Note: Cushion Grip is classified as a denture adhesive, but its thermoplastic formula works differently from traditional denture glues.
The Challenges of Using Traditional Denture Adhesives
Denture wearers know the struggles of traditional denture adhesives. These can provide stability. However, messy application and daily cleanup make wearing dentures feel like a chore.
Denture glue can be difficult to apply evenly. It may leave sticky residue or ooze around the edges. Some adhesives leave an unpleasant taste or gritty sensation.
Removing adhesive residue from your mouth and dentures adds another time-consuming step to your routine.

Feel Secure Knowing Cushion Grip Is Zinc-Free

Choosing a zinc-free denture adhesive like Cushion Grip eliminates this source of added zinc from your denture routine.

I reapply new everyday cause how does it hold debtures in if it’s already cured?
I really want to order this from your company. I bought some from a different seller and made sure it was Cushion Grip and I was sent something that looks exactly like Cushion Grip but it was sticky and gooey. I straight away contacted them and they refuse to reply. I then looked at the reviews and most said that it was similar packaging to Cushion Grip but it was as I said, sticky and gooey. Do you sell the actual product I’m looking for or am I going to spend a fortune (again) for the incorrect product?
I used cushion grip for many years starting in 2007 but sometime around 2011 it stopped being available in stores. Now with the relaunch, it is still mainly only available in stores. It is quite disappointing that it is online order only because it is hands down the absolute best product in this category. Myself and everyone I know with dentures wishes this was available in person at stores… big let down that it isn’t. There was an article on Facebook stating that it is available at Walgreens but none of the 7 I have been to within 100 miles of me have it. .. disappointing.
How long after I put it on my dentures do I trim the excessive amount off.
I tried it and doesn’t work, I applied to my dentures followed the instructions left them in for 2 hours took them out to trim the oozing put back on and they kept falling out, DOESN’T work, waisted my money
