Cushion Grip vs. Traditional Denture Adhesives

Cushion Grip thermoplastic denture adhesive vs. traditional denture glue, comparing two denture adhesive solutions for a secure fit.

Denture adhesives help keep dentures in place. However, a comparison reveals that not all adhesives work the same way.

We’ll compare Cushion Grip and traditional denture glue. We highlight key differences to help you find the best option.

Traditional Denture Adhesive (Glue)

Applying denture adhesive from a tube to dentures. Denture adhesive comparison.

Traditional denture glue adhesives come in pastes, creams, or powders that create a temporary bond between your dentures and gums. This helps keep dentures in place while eating and speaking.

Cushion Grip is a thermoplastic denture adhesive. It works like a soft reliner to refit and tighten dentures. When heated, it becomes pliable. It fills gaps for a snug, comfortable, custom fit.

Cushion Grip helps you temporarily refit and tighten your dentures between dental visits for added comfort and stability.

❗ Note: Cushion Grip is classified as a denture adhesive, but its thermoplastic formula works differently from traditional denture glues.

The Challenges of Using Traditional Denture Adhesives

Denture wearers know the struggles of traditional denture adhesives. These can provide stability. However, messy application and daily cleanup make wearing dentures feel like a chore.

Denture glue can be difficult to apply evenly. It may leave sticky residue or ooze around the edges. Some adhesives leave an unpleasant taste or gritty sensation.

Removing adhesive residue from your mouth and dentures adds another time-consuming step to your routine.

Cushion Grip makes eating more comfortable. It provides a secure hold that lasts up to 4 days, eliminating daily application.

Cushion Grip is a thermoplastic denture adhesive. It helps refit and tighten loose dentures for a snug fit.

Once set, you can remove, clean, and soak your dentures. Cushion Grip stays in place. You can eat and drink with confidence.

Feel Secure Knowing Cushion Grip Is Zinc-Free

Zinc is an essential mineral found in many foods. However, it can also be present in some denture adhesives.

Using denture adhesive with zinc may contribute to excessive zinc intake. Frequent reapplication increases the chance of swallowing residue.

Choosing a zinc-free denture adhesive like Cushion Grip eliminates this source of added zinc from your denture routine.

Product is wonderful! If you are tired of the nasty adhesive’s then this is the product to use. I will never go back to paste or powder.

But do they hold bottom dentures in too?

G’day! Before my cousin consults a dentist in the near future, I believe he needs to read this article first. This is because you clearly indicated that denture glues must be applied every day to maintain its position. He recently decided to get a partial denture to replace his missing tooth. https://www.bendigodentallab.com.au/complete-dentures

Does it work on lower dentures

I LOVE THIS STUFF!!!! A total life saver. I use it for my immediates. Makes them so much more comfortable. Took me a minute to fully understand the best way to use it….hint: watch a few videos on youtube…but it works so well for me I have no need to add any adhesive…not even for my bottom dentures. Be sure to let it cure correctly (for me it’s about 4 hours) and no eating during that time. If i HAVE to eat during that time I pop ’em out then put them right back in after I rinse my mouth and let them finish curing. There is no messy clean up. As a matter of fact when i go to the dentist for an adjustment I can pull the Cushion Grip right out of my upper in one piece and then put it right back in. Holds just as tight as the day i made it. Good for about a week or so then i make another. Excellent product. I had almost given up wearing the immediates. Two thumbs up.
